Egg Rolls, Buffalo Wings and Fried Lice…

I got one of those SuperSaver books in the mail and there was a prominent ad for a Chinese buffet. Since R.W. and I aren’t attending CUTC this year due to their lackluster speakers, we needed a replacement for the ridiculous amounts of (cheap) food we would be missing out on.

The last time we went for dim sum at lunch, our bill ended up being $50. For two people. Insane.

Incompetence Knows No Bounds…

I’m on hold with Sympatico technical support, after navigating through Emily’s infuriating voice prompts. Why? Because DSL keeps disconnecting, to the point where I can’t maintain a steady LogMeIn connection.

I’ve been on hold for half an hour and after listening to ragtime, the wedding march (why is this even in the playlist???), and other music I can’t identify, I’m ready to scream.

Shady Job Antics…

So, still no word on why 4 heavily-armed SWAT officers rushed the Internet café though according to the manager, it’s pertaining to the owners, not the café itself.

We, as lowly minions, are insulated from any legal fallout. (Just to be sure, I contacted the family lawyer.)

I was contemplating quitting due to the shadiness of it all but am reluctant to give up such an easy job.

I’m now working at an Internet café downtown. It’s nothing glamourous or challenging, but it pays for gas and gives me lots of time to study and read.
